Epic Hot Tubs and Swim Spas is now the Finnleo sauna dealer for Sanford, Pinehurst and Southern Pines. Traditional and infrared models are on the floor at the company’s showroom on Jefferson Davis Highway.
Until now, buyers in the Sandhills had to drive to Raleigh or Charlotte to sit in a sauna before buying one. Sanford is about 30 miles from Southern Pines and 35 from Pinehurst.
“You should sit in one before you spend the money,” said Jordan, of Epic Hot Tubs. “Infrared and traditional are different products and people usually know which one they want after ten minutes in each. Reading about it doesn’t get you there.”
Finnleo has built saunas in Cokato, Minnesota since 1984 and is owned by TyloHelo, the Finnish-Swedish group behind the Tylo and Helo heaters. Some models are built in Finland. The Sanford lineup includes the S810 and S820 infrared cabins, the Hallmark traditional rooms and the Northstar outdoor series, from about $6,700 to $23,000.
Jordan said the first question buyers should ask is about wiring. A traditional sauna needs a dedicated 240-volt circuit, and running one is usually the largest cost outside the sauna itself.
“We’d rather tell you that on the first visit,” he said.
The Sanford store is open seven days a week with no appointment. Epic delivers free to Lee, Moore, Harnett and Chatham counties.
